It seems unlikely to link getting a good night’s sleep as the foundation to overall good health, but it’s true. We spend one-third of our lives asleep, so it’s vital to find out the nature of the sleep problem and explore ways to deal with it. Star Valley Medical Center’s Sleep Lab can help you put your sleep issues to rest. Our professionals are experienced at diagnosing and treating common sleep disorders from insomnia, sleep apnea, restless legs syndrome, narcolepsy, and others.
One out of every three Americans suffer from a sleep disorder If left untreated, sleep disorders can develop into more severe health issues, which may include heart problems, difficulty concentrating, irritability and pain sensitivity. In order to evaluate your sleep, we need to study your brain activity and body systems throughout the night. This examination is call a sleep study and is conducted right here at SVMC in a quiet and private room by our registered polysomnographic technologist. You may prefer, and some insurances may require you, to perform a Home Sleep Test. This offers an alternative to lab based testing, although it only tests for sleep apnea.
Visit with your primary care provider to see if you should be scheduled for a sleep study.
