Radiology is a specialty branch of medicine that deals with the use of images to diagnose illness or injury. Diagnostics images are attained through sound waves and electromagnetic radiation. Radiological imaging techniques include x-rays, CT scans, PET scans, MRIs, DEXA scans, mammography, and ultrasound. This diagnostic equipment can also sometimes be used for treatment as well.
