Class & Event Registration
Star Valley Medical Center classes and events are offered to help you stay well and to provide you with the education and support you need to make informed decisions about your health. Many of the classes are offered at the hospital and are free to the public. Our staff is also very active in local health fairs and community events. Because we value early detection and prevention, we provide free screenings such as blood sugar and blood pressure at multiple events throughout the year.

SVMC now offers monthly BLS classes to the clinical members of our community. Both first time classes and recertifications are available. The recertification class will be held from 2pm - 4 pm, and students will need to complete the online training and bring their certificate to the recertification class. Classes are held in the Greys River Conference Room at the hospital. Please park in the main parking area in front of the hospital and use the main entrance. Please walk down the main hallway turning right at the nurses station. Following the signs to the cafeteria, go left up an inclined hall way. At the end of that hall way, turn left and the Greys River Room will be on your right, just past the cafeteria.
The Nursing Assistant course is designed to follow the Wyoming Department of Health curriculum requirements and is eligible for certification by the Wyoming State Board of Nursing. Upon successful completion of this class, you will be able to take the Wyoming CNA Certification Examination, a two part exam consisting of written multiple choice questions and a practical skill demonstration. After passing the exam you can apply for your Wyoming CNA License. CNAs work under the direction and supervision of an RN or LPN, and oftentimes the CNA certification is one of the first steps into a nursing program.
This training opportunity is open to interested students ages 16 and older. Cost for the class is $401 for books and tuition and will be due by the start of class. Additional costs for the State CNA Certification Exam, as well as costs to purchase the necessary uniform, shoes, stethoscope, and watch are not included with the books and tuition. Immunizations must be up to date prior to clinicals (hands on practice).
The Fall 2017 CNA Course is scheduled for August 28 - September 29th on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday evenings from 5:30 - 9:30. There will be one exception to the class schedule. There will be no classes on Labor Day, September 4th, and the class will be made up on Wednesday, September 6th.
