Position Title:  Administrative Assistant

Department:  Administration

Supervisor Title:  Executive Administrative Asst.


While upholding the Star Valley Medical Center mission, vision and values this key position is crucial in supporting the administrative operations of the Star Valley Medical Center executive team.  This position provides support to the executive administrative assistant, executive administration team, and the department directors of SVMC.  General duties include but are not limited to assisting with corresponding, creating presentations, taking minutes during meetings and customer interaction.  This is an ‘at will” position.

Job Duties

·         Assisting the executive administration assistant, executive administrative team and department directors by performing secretarial and general clerical duties

·         Answers telephone, interviews and screen office callers, and makes appointments

·         Composes routine correspondence, agenda, memoranda and typical statistical reports

·         Cordially greet external and internal customers needing assistance

·         Handle confidential and proprietary information on a daily basis

·         Document and prepare committee minutes

·         Assist with various committees and events on and off the main SVMC campus

·         Assist the SVMC Charitable Foundation with meeting minutes and various foundation functions

·         Work closely with members of the executive team to ensure meeting scheduling is maintained properly

·         Maintain Internet and websites affiliated with SVMC

·         Perform other duties as needs arise and assigned



Abilities & Skills:    

·         Demonstrate professional oral and written communication with the ability to exercise proper judgment,

make decisions

·         Strong multi-tasking skills with the ease of changing direction upon request and needs

·         Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Publisher; general Internet capabilities

·         Intermediate skills in website maintenance and social media page maintenance

·         Skillful in file system creation and corporate file maintenance along with general office equipment

·         Sound analytical and problem-solving skills

·         Ability to utilize an electric typewriter

·         Ability to work in a team-oriented environment, communicate effectively , and demonstrate sensitivity to clients, visitors and staff

·         Comply with HIPAA and other deferral, state and local regulations as well, as maintain the highest degree of confidentiality in client, staff and organization matters

·         Excellent organization and prioritization aptitude

·         Constant sitting, standing, walking, pushing, pulling. Bending, reaching, computer utilization throughout the day.  Must be able to lift twenty-five (25) pounds or more on occasion


Experience & Education:

·         Associates degree in related field of work or three (3) years of administrative assistant experience

·         High School graduate or GED equivalent

·         Possession of a valid driver’s license with the ability and willingness to travel on work assignments
