2013 Capital Campaign for SVMC Charitable Foundation -

In 2013 the foundation has been given the challenge of raising $60,000.00  for the Medical Center. This year’s annual capital campaign will focus on the purchase of a Central Fetal Monitoring System and the related software for moms and babies who are delivered at SVMC.  This new system will provide the SVMC labor and delivery unit superior monitoring and reporting capabilities by helping them to meet current standards and reduce the risk of lost fetal monitoring strips.

A centralized fetal monitoring system will allow for immediate review of fetal and maternal monitoring by physicians and nursing staff from any remote access.  This gives the physician the ability to monitor their patient at any time in any place, whether they are at the bedside of the patient or assisting others.  The nursing staff will have the capability of monitoring the OB patient from their bedside or be at the nursing desk, allowing them to have continual access to the OB patient’s fetal monitoring.  Uninterrupted continual care allows for complete surveillance during the delivery process and will provide the best quality outcomes to the patient as well as their unborn infants during the delivery process.

This upgrade to our labor and delivery unit has been proposed for several years and would be a tremendous asset to the obstetric care given to patients at SVMC.  It will not only save time and money, it will save lives while providing maximum quality patient care, cutting response time down and meeting state and federal guidelines for our patient services.

SVMC Charitable Foundation will be raising $60,000.00 during the coming year for this worthy project. The annual capital campaign will be focused on providing this important equipment for the moms and babies that receive care in our facility. Your generous contributions are greatly appreciated!
