Capital Equipment Needs
2014 Capital Campaign for SVMC Charitable Foundation -
As Star Valley Medical Center continues to grow and provide the necessary healthcare services that the community needs and wants, it has become apparent that another component of providing great health care close to home is an intensive care unit (ICU). With the number of cases that flow through the surgery department at SVMC, an intensive care unit would be a welcome addition to the services offered. The Star Valley Medical Center Charitable Foundation has been given the charge to raise funds in FY 2014 to equip a two bed intensive care unit. "When the hospital was built in 2003, a couple of the patient rooms were built to be retrofitted into an ICU, states Charlie Button, CEO of SVMC. We feel that an ICU at SVMC would be greatly utilized by the patients who need a higher level of nursing care during their stay at the hospital." The Foundation is setting a goal to raise $60,000 for this campaign to equip an ICU at SVMC in 2014.
A longer term funding campaign to generate $500,000 to assist with the expansion of SVMC is also kicking off in the summer of 2013. "The Foundation Board is excited to accept this new challenge to reach out to the friends of Star Valley Medical Center an ask for their support in the maintaining and growing our great healthcare facility" said Foundation Chairman Jim Fairchild. "Our community is blessed to have such a great facility and so many friends and residents who are willing to support the Medical Center through gifts and donations."
